Make Something New Combines Two Traditional Quilting Techniques
Creatively combine Stitch & Flip strips with Quilt-As-You-Go to make a new style of quilt.
Join Patricia Belyea as she leads you in a fun way to make a quilt—from piecing strips to making quilted tiles to joining them together with narrow ribbons of fabric.
Continue conceiving and making more quilted tiles to develop an original quilt of your own design.
This immersive experience gives you the freedom to explore new ideas amongst an encouraging band of fellow quilters.
The Venue
The La Conner Inn blends charm with contemporary comforts in the heart of historic La Conner. A few blocks away is the Northwest’s quilt museum in a grand mansion.
A wooden boardwalk winds along the Swinomish Channel, behind the downtown storefronts—perfect for refreshing morning and evening walks.
What’s Included
The Retreat includes a four-day quilt workshop, a Welcome Dinner on Monday evening; healthy lunches and artisan chocolates each workshop day (MON-THU); a Farewell Breakfast Gathering on Friday morning; and ten yards of vintage Japanese yukata cotton (a $150 value).
RETREAT LIMITED TO 11 PARTICIPANTS
RETREAT DEPOSIT: The deposit is non-refundable. All the same, if you cancel and Okan Arts can fill your space, your deposit of $475 will be refunded less a $75 service fee.
RETREAT CONTRACT: Within one day of paying the Deposit, you will receive a Retreat Contract by email. The Retreat Contract needs to be filled out, signed, and returned within one week to complete your registration.
SEWING MACHINE RENTALS: A limited number of machines are available for rental for this retreat. The $75 fee includes a Bernina 1230. Inquire about a machine rental +here
ACCOMMODATIONS: You are welcome to stay anywhere in La Conner for this workshop. Most participants book a room at The La Conner Inn.
A Group Rate is available for your room at the Inn: Single Queen $169, double occupancy; Double Queen $179, double occupancy; King $199, double occupancy. (There are a limited number of rooms in each category.)
Rooms include continental breakfast each morning (MON-FRI).
The above rates are per room, per night. Additional are local lodging/sales tax and a $4 per night resort fee.
You are responsible for booking your own room. Once you have submitted the completed Retreat Contract, Okan Arts will send you the booking info.
