LA CONNER WA When I post about a summer workshop in La Conner, no one wants to see photos of the picturesque waterfront. Or the pink sunsets. Or the happy group meals. Or the pop-up shop brimming with vintage Japanese textiles. Or the excursion to the local quilt museum. Or the beautiful gardens or herons overhead. No, it's all about the workshop projects!
The Workshop theme was Creativity, Curves & Compositions.
So here you go: The first project was the Quadrant Quilt where students made four big blocks, of their own design, with complex curves.
For the last two days of the Workshop, everyone moved to making a quilt design focusing on one big idea that incorporated curves. That meant thinking about their quilt compositions in a whole new way.
If developing quilt designs with curves appeals to you, I am teaching similar workshops online, via Zoom. To learn more +click here

Earlene McClairLovely!!!!! They are all so different from one another. Makes me want to get my curve-mojo on and make another “curve project”. I participated in Patricia’s curve workshop in Aptos, Calif., and it was such a fun process, great teacher!
