DOWNSVILLE WI Big news! Chris Daly, the proprietress of Woodland Ridge Retreat, became a grandmother. The day after I arrived, Baby Liam made his appearance!
I turned up to teach a Creativity & Complex Curves workshop. This is my third summer here:
~ the luxury retreat center is still awesome
~ the Dunn County Pottery shop next door charmed me once again
~ the espresso at nearby Scatterbrain Cafe hit the mark
~ and, the students were eager, talented, and lovely.
We started our journey into Curvesland with the Quadrant Quilt. Here are some of those accomplished projects:

The next assignment was making a Straights & Curves composition:
One advanced student worked on two curved projects: Moving Curves and Fragmented Curves.
As always, I brought a little collection of Japanese textiles with me. Some of this fabric was nabbed for the quilt projects.
More impressively, Chris has hundreds of bolts of contemporary quilting cotton in her Dye Candy Fabrics shop that really helped out. You can check out her shop online +here
Chris Daly has invited me back to teach Inserted Curves in August 2025. I am honored to be a member of Woodland Ridge Retreat’s impressive roster of teachers!
