BIRMINGHAM UK  What does it take to submit a quilt to a festival? Besides making your best work, you have to complete the entry forms, carefully package your masterpiece, and ship it across town or across the world.

Then you have to accept that it will be judged alongside hundreds of extraordinary quilts. That takes pure bravery!

To follow is just a snippet of the 820 quilts on display at this year’s Festival of Quilts.
