victoria loves yukata cottons
By Patricia Belyea
VICTORIA BC Victoria stands out as a real quilting mecca. It’s two main guilds—Victoria Quilters’ Guild and Westshore Quilters’ Guild together boast over 500 members. Plus lots of local ladies stay busy quilting who don’t have an interest in joining a guild. One thing they all have in common—they love gorgeous fabrics.
Yesterday my trunk show of yukata cottons at Westshore Quilters’ Guild was a raging success. About one third of the members who attended my lecture took home a piece or two of the hand-dyed cotton.
Today I set up shop in the classroom at Satin Moon Quilted Garden. A steady stream of shoppers stopped by, including quilters I had met the day before at the Westshore meeting. The specialness of the yukata cottons captivated their hearts and pocketbooks.
Meeting so many enthusiastic quilters who appreciate my yukata cottons makes me happy and thankful to be here.
