WHAT WILL YOU SEE?
All the quilts from the East-Meets-West Quilts book will be hanging in the hall.
WILL THERE BE A TALK?
At 2pm, Patricia Belyea will give a short talk and give a demo of the Cutting Dance.
WHO WILL YOU MEET?
You’ll meet Patricia’s twin sister Pamela, her daughters Elizabeth and Victoria, and her niece Sarah. Hopefully Kitty Pippen and her daughter Sylvia Pippen will stop by for a visit. Plus there will be lots of lively quilters!
WILL THERE BE EAST-MEETS-WEST BOOKS AND THREAD SETS?
You bet. Books and Thread Sets will be available for sale.
WILL THERE BE A BOOK SIGNING?
Definitely, if anyone wants to get a book signed. If you already have a signed book, please come anyway!
WHAT ELSE WILL BE FOR SALE?
Vintage Japanese textiles such as yukata cottons, kimono wools, and obis will all be on sale. Lots of vintage kimonos—kids and adults in silk and cotton—will be half price. (For example: a child’s silk and embroidered kimono will be $24, marked down from $48.) Kokeshi dolls and vintage Japanese sewing boxes will also be on sale.
IF THIS IS A PARTY, WHAT ARE THE GOODIES?
The party menu will be chocolate cupcakes with green tea icing. What more could you want?
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE QUILT MUSEUM ACROSS THE STREET THAT DAY?
Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum will be celebrating the season with an Open House, Make & Take sessions, and its annual Victorian Winter Holiday exhibit. Free admission, 11am to 5pm.
WHERE’S A GOOD PLACE TO EAT IN TOWN?
Historic La Conner is brimming with great restaurants. Okan Arts favorites are Nell Thorn, Oyster and Thistle, and Santo Coyote.
