spring quilt market secrets
By Patricia Belyea
PORTLAND WA There are lots of things I can tell you about Spring Market in Portland this year. It was HUGE. The booths looked great. And the new collections are awesome.
I met with the editor-in-chief of GenerationQ who’s excited to do a feature story about a quilt commission I just finished. It’s in stealth mode so you’ll have to wait for the Oct/Nov edition to read all about it.
My main mission was to show three Patomi fabric designs to textile manufacturers and come home with some sort of verbal agreement to produce a collection. My news? I have two companies interested in our three spec collections. There are more steps to go through to secure a deal but I am thrilled with their positive responses.
I won’t say who the companies are because I don’t want to jinx anything. Once I have any news that I can make public, I’ll be up in the tree tops shouting!
