What began as a folding experiment with this unique ikat kimono wool ended up as the central design of this quilt. Wanting to confine and enhance the image, I surrounded it with a black and white checkerboard.
As I worked on the hand quilting, I noticed some small moth holes in the fabric that I had missed in the fabrication of the top, so I embroidered over them with the red quilting yarn and added a new element to the design.
The quilt, signed with Joe’s embroidered signature, comes with a four-inch hanging sleeve, Certificate of Authenticity, and a custom cotton bag. Shipping and insurance are free to a domestic US address.
