COLWOOD BC Westshore Quilters’ Guild moved this spring to a new church with a huge, bright community room. That’s where 14 guild members took my Doodling Piecing class yesterday.
Once again I had so much fun watching lightbulbs go off above quilters’ heads as they gained new techniques and concepts. And, as always I learned something new from all of them.
Everyone finished one curvy block, and some more than one. Ideas were popping about framing the doodle squares for bigger quilt tops or making wall hangings.
Most unusual is the fact that you can not buy freezer paper in Canada anymore! What an unusual contraband must flow between the US and the north, with Canuck quilters smuggling the ever-precious and useful studio supply home.
