august 2014 giveaway

by Patricia Belyea

SEATTLE WA  This month’s giveaway is five yards of vintage Japanese yukata cotton. These fabrics were hand-dyed about forty years ago and are still in excellent shape.

The theme of these five fabrics is indigo and white with a splash of color. The three geometrics would have been made into men’s yukatas. The other two are for women: a floral indigo and white, and an abstract with color swirls. I’d add a little turquoise, tangerine and buttercup to this collection for a unique quilt top.

You can win this set of yukata cottons by adding a comment to this blog. The drawing will take place at midnight PST on August 31, 2014. The yukata cottons will then be mailed anywhere in the world.

These would be such a beautiful addition mixed with some color in those quilts. The quilts are much treasured gifts for the families in currently there.

I make men’s shirts out of fabrics that have something unique about them, whether it be the print, texture, material or any combination. I get more requests to make these for others just by people stopping my husband when he is out shopping or at work.
