Classes

Feel free to contact me to discuss these classes. They are designed for one to two days. Both are for quilters who are prepared to explore new ways of piecing.

Doodle Quilting

Japanese Rose Block

In this class, we make two to three blocks in one day for a curvy-pieced quilt top. We start by translating simple doodles into the block designs. The linework is transferred to freezer paper for making the patterns. We then walk through the steps for making a fabric version of the pattern.

Counterintuitive Quilting

Dungaree Baby

The term Counterintuitive Quilting was coined by my 82-year old mother who said my approach was 180° opposite to her natural thinking about quilt-making. In this workshop, we begin to make a quilt without a cutting grid, rotary cutter or pattern, OR being efficient. We boldly make fabric choices and cut them up. Then we proceed with building a quilt top by being brave and creative.
